Thomas could not believe his good fortune. He had thought Candy was lost and gone forever. He didn’t care how she managed to get an Angel’s body; he just wanted her brain. “I want a security team stationed at every entrance and exit ASAP,” he said before closing his cell phone. Candy wouldn’t get away this time, and she didn’t have a building to jump from either.
The convention wasn’t just for robot and android companies to display their new product lines. There were also companies selling used equipment too. Candy was able to pick up 3 old androids in pretty good shape for a really nice price, one Candy model and two Honeys.
Thomas was betting on Candy using a back entrance, nor did she disappoint him. The security guard who tried to grab her first must have missed her earlier demonstration at the convention. Candy broke both his wrist and his arm at the elbow. She left the guard lying on the ground screaming in pain which of course made the other security guards hesitate. “Don’t just stand there, get her!” Thomas yelled at the guards.
“You want me, come and get me, but you will be accessories to grand theft,” Candy said as she backed away from the nearest guard. The androids she had just bought were no help as they were huddled together next to the building wall unsure what to do.
“Don’t listen to her,” Thomas said trying to urge the guards on.
“There are four androids recording this event. There is no chance you won’t be identified,” Candy said.
“She’s bluffing, she knows we can erase their memories,” Thomas said. “Now get her!”
“Thomas, you can’t really be this stupid,” Candy said as a half dozen Cybertron security guards closed on her. “You won’t get away with this.”
“Sure I will,” Thomas said. “You and your androids won’t remember a thing. I’ll have you back...” The cold gun barrel pressed to the back of his head interrupted the conversation.
“Alright, everybody hold it right there!” the man with the gun said. “Candy, are you alright?”
“I’m fine,” Candy replied. “Thomas, meet Jack, my bodyguard.”
“I’ve got six guards here and more on the way,” Thomas said.
“That’s fine with me, bring 'em on,” Jack growled. “You’ll be the one who catches my first bullet.”
Candy pushed her way through the wall of guards before her. “Thomas, I think you’re going to need a ride back to your office,” she said.
“I have my own ride thank you,” Thomas replied.
“That wasn’t a request,” Jack said as he grabbed Thomas by the back of his suit coat and started to drag him backward toward a waiting limousine.
Candy had to peel her androids off the building wall and herd them toward the limo. This was all so outside their experience that they were nearly frozen in place. “You won’t get away with this,” Thomas said once Candy had everyone in the car.
“Get away with what?” Candy asked.
“Kidnapping me.”
“We’re not kidnapping you. Jack, are we kidnapping him?”
“No, I distinctly heard you say we are giving him a ride to his office,” Jack replied.
“See,” Candy said. “You, on the other hand, were just caught trying to steal someone else's property. I believe they call that grand theft. Now, let's talk androids, Angel models to be specific.”
