A Prologue
“I'd like to welcome you to tonight's show,” the late-night show host said. “We have become accustomed to the androids within our society; the nameless, faceless automatons that tirelessly help to make our lives a little better. Now, it is my pleasure to introduce you to the next step in android evolution. They are revolutionizing the service industry, and I am told several hotels in Las Vegas have already placed orders for both models. I'd like to introduce you to our guest hosts tonight Candy and April.”
“Thank you, Bob,” Candy said in a very seductive voice. “Later on in tonight's show, you will get to meet the CEO and robot designer Thomas Roth of Cybertron Robotics where we were made.”
“That's right, Candy,” Bob said. “Also in tonight's show, April will demonstrate for us her amazing versatility that would put the best android today to shame.” Bob had already gotten a sample of what Candy could do before the show. She brought a whole new meaning to the concept of personal service.
If only we could have looked into the future. Twenty-three years later Candy would kill her owner and vanish into the pages of history as just another malfunctioning android. But, there was so much more to the story than anyone ever knew. This is Candy’s story...
